Inertia II

Inertia, property of a body by virtue of which it opposes any agency that attempts to put it in motion or, if it is moving, to change the magnitude or direction of its velocity.

Inspired by the meditative art of stacking stones, two bright blue Coober Pedy opals balance on fine silver granulations. Perfectly imperfect.

The pendant features a hidden bail so the piece appears to be floating on the necklace, a reminder to the wearer that sometimes change doesn't need to be resisted, but embraced.

The pendant is sterling silver, with fine silver bezels and granulations. It measures 20x10mm at its widest points, photographed here on a 45cm diamond cut curb chain.
